Tested Fire Performance

Tested to BS EN 1634-1, with the applicable fire classification determined by the relevant classification evidence.

The Servery Fire Shutters for Flexible Structures are designed as a tested fire rated system, meaning customisation is more controlled to ensure compliance with certification. However, there are still key configuration options available to suit your opening size, operation requirements, and project specification.

Fire Rating & System Configuration

Fire Ratings Available:

• E60 (60 minutes integrity)
• E120 (120 minutes integrity)

Tested System:

• Includes shutter, timber stud substrate, and cill detail
• Must be installed in accordance with the tested specification

Substrate Requirements

This fire shutter is intended for installation into the specified tested timber stud wall construction.

The complete system includes requirements for:

• timber studs;
• fire-rated wall boards;
• insulation;
• shutter fixings;
• interfaces around the opening;
• cill or landing construction.

The system is not suitable for metal stud partitions.

Changes to the wall construction may affect the tested fire performance, so the substrate should be confirmed before the shutter is ordered.

The final specification should reflect the required fire classification, opening dimensions, supporting construction, motor arrangement and fire-control strategy.

We aim to keep lead times as efficient as possible for the Servery Fire Shutters – Flexible Structure, while manufacturing the shutter in accordance with the applicable tested specifiation. Typical manufacturing lead times are 3–4 weeks for tubular motor systems (smaller openings) and 3–5 weeks for industrial motor systems (larger openings). These timeframes reflect the specialist nature of the product and the need to manufacture in line with the tested fire-rated specification. Please note, any project-specific requirements or powder coated finishes may extend lead times slightly.

Correct installation is critical part to achieving the certified fire performance and must be carried out in accordance with the tested system design. This includes correct installation into the approved timber stud wall construction, along with the specified cill and structural details. For supply and installation projects, the process typically includes a site survey to confirm substrate suitability, followed by manufacture and coordinated installation. Correct installation is essential to achieving the stated fire performance. The shutter and supporting construction must therefore be installed in accordance with the applicable tested configuration and project requirements.

The Servery Fire Shutter for Flexible Structures is a specialist, tested fire rated system, so pricing reflects the specialist construction, required fire classification, supporting wall requirements, motor and control configuration, and opening dimensions. Costs will vary depending on size, fire rating (E60 or E120), and motor type.
