1. Overview
Security Direct Products Ltd supplies a wide range of security and fire protection products throughout the United Kingdom.
As many of our products are manufactured to order, delivery times vary depending on the product type, size, specification and current manufacturing schedules.
This policy explains how we calculate delivery charges, estimated lead times and what you can expect when your order is delivered.
2. Delivery Areas

Unfortunately, we do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland.

Where delivery charges cannot be calculated automatically, our Sales Team will provide a quotation before your order is accepted.

Typically 3β7 working days.
Made-to-Measure Products
Typically 7β15 working days after order confirmation.

Delivery times vary depending on the product and project requirements. Estimated lead times will be confirmed when your quotation or order is issued.
Delivery estimates begin once:
- payment has been received (where applicable),
- drawings have been approved (where required),
- and all technical information has been confirmed.
6. Manufacturing Delays
Whilst we make every effort to achieve our estimated lead times, delays may occasionally occur due to:
- supplier lead times,
- material shortages,
- manufacturing capacity,
- transport disruption,
- severe weather,
- events outside our reasonable control.
Should a significant delay occur, we will keep you informed.
7. Delivery Methods
Depending on the products ordered, deliveries may be carried out by:
- Security Direct vehicles
- Specialist transport companies
- National pallet networks
- Courier services
- Manufacturer direct deliveries
The delivery method selected will depend on the size, weight and destination of your order.
8. Delivery Access
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure suitable access for the delivery vehicle.
Please advise us before dispatch if there are any access restrictions, including:
- narrow roads,
- weight restrictions,
- timed delivery restrictions,
- forklift requirements,
- pedestrian-only areas,
- building site access,
- restricted delivery hours.
Additional charges may apply where specialist vehicles or repeat deliveries are required.
9. Unloading Deliveries
Many of our products are large and heavy.
Unless otherwise agreed, deliveries are made to the nearest safe unloading point.
Customers are responsible for ensuring suitable labour and equipment are available to unload heavy products where a vehicle-mounted crane or offloading service has not been arranged.
Please discuss any unloading requirements with our Sales Team before ordering.
10. Delivery Inspections
Please inspect your delivery as soon as possible.
Before signing for the goods, we recommend checking:
- packaging condition,
- number of items,
- obvious signs of damage.
If damage is visible, please note this on the carrier's delivery documentation and notify us as soon as possible.
Transport damage should be reported within 72 hours of delivery wherever possible.
This helps us make claims against our transport providers and does not affect your statutory rights.
11. Failed Deliveries
If delivery cannot be completed because:
- no one is available,
- access is unavailable,
- unloading cannot take place,
- delivery has not been rearranged,
additional delivery charges may apply before redelivery can be arranged.
12. Customer Requested Delivery Delays
If you ask us to delay delivery after your products have been manufactured, we may charge reasonable:
- storage charges,
- transport charges,
- administration costs.
Where appropriate, products may also be invoiced prior to delivery if manufacture has been completed.
13. Collection
Collection from Security Direct or directly from selected manufacturers may be available on certain products.
Collections must always be arranged in advance.
Please do not attend any collection location until you have received confirmation that your order is ready.
Some manufacturers operate restricted collection times or specialist distribution centres that are not suitable for public access. In these cases, collection may not be available.
14. Installation Orders
Where Security Direct is also carrying out installation, delivery will normally be coordinated with the agreed installation date.
Products may be delivered shortly before installation or directly to site on the installation day, depending on the project.
15. Delivery to Building Sites
Where deliveries are made to construction sites, customers must ensure:
- safe access,
- authorised personnel are available,
- suitable unloading equipment is available where required,
- secure storage is available after delivery.
Security Direct cannot accept responsibility for products left unattended following delivery where delivery arrangements have been agreed.
16. International Deliveries
Where we agree to deliver outside the United Kingdom:
- additional transport charges may apply,
- import duties and taxes are the customer's responsibility,
- customs clearance delays are outside our control.
Customers are responsible for complying with local import regulations.
17. Questions
If you have any questions regarding delivery, lead times or transport arrangements, please contact our Sales Team.
