Why Buy the Compact Fire Shutter for Solid Structures?

Certified Fire Protection in a Minimal Footprint

The Compact Fire Shutter is fire rated up to 4 hours (depending on model), offering robust compartmentation in the event of a fire. It’s ideal for solid structural openings where high-performance fire protection is required without sacrificing valuable headroom or wall space. Thanks to its compact coil design, it fits discreetly into tight areas such as:

  •    Corridors and fire exits
  •   Service hatches and kiosks
  •   Internal compartment walls
  •   Areas with ceiling or bulkhead restrictions

Lightweight and Space-Saving Design

Unlike traditional fire shutters, this model uses a 22SWG single skin steel curtain, allowing the shutter to roll into a smaller box housing, making it perfect for areas where aesthetics, clearance, or spatial constraints are critical. This makes installation easier and cleaner, especially in finished architectural environments like:

  •    Schools and universities
  •   Offices and public buildings
  •   Retail shops and shopping centres

Reliable Safety with Battery Backup Options

The Compact Fire Shutter can be operated by a standard fire control panel, battery backup system and Manual Override Handle, ensuring it still functions in the event of a power failure. The system can be integrated with the building’s fire alarm for automatic activation during emergencies, offering peace of mind and legal compliance with fire safety regulations.

Tested to British and European Standards

It is tested to BS EN 16034 and BS 476: Part 22, meeting both UK and EU fire safety standards. This makes it a dependable solution for specifiers and contractors looking for compliant and tested fire-rated roller shutters.
