Why use the Window Safety Bars?
The Window Safety Bars have been specially designed for preventing children or vulnerable people from falling from low windows. The window safety bars are fitted internally, across the front of the window or with the window recess. The vertical bars are closer together, to ensure children can't get their head stuck between the bars. The barrier can be made to suit to fit a half height window or full height window. The barrier can be made fixed for more security or removable, to allow the grille to be removed for cleaning the window and maintenance.
The window safety bars have been designed to comply with the guidance specified in Part K2 of the Building Regulations 2000 as read with BS6180:1999. As an added precaution the spacing between the bars has also been reduced in order to comply with that specified in BSEN 1930:2000.
The window safety bars can be powder coated White, Brown, Black or Cream as standard. Other BS and RAL colours are available at an additional cost.
The Safety Barrier is manufactured using 12mm Round Vertical Bars welded into a steel Frame. To prevent children trapping their head in between the bars, the bars are spaced at 65mm.
Frame
The Window Bars come as standard with a Box Section frame, other types of frame are available on request.
BOX SECTION - The Bar grille is supplied as standard in a fully welded Box Section frame. The size of the box section will depend on the Diameter of the infill bars.
The bars are welded into the frame, providing a very strong bar grille. The advantage of the box section is that the fixings can be concealed inside the box section
profile, making it a neater and more secure than the other frame types.
